Little gnomes and the Blue Man Group set up my computer so that it runs on Pancakes instead of electricity, and I am sick of making Pancakes. Can it run on something else, like delicious cake?
Answer: You just need to modify the CPU itself so that it will accept cake. 1. Unscrew the casing to reveal the stuff inside. Since your computer runs on Pancakes and not on electricity, most of the main components may be syrup and butter. Replace that with ice cream and frosting, because syrup and butter are nasty on a cake. 2. Locate the pancake maker (it should be to the right) and replace it with a Easy Bake oven. You don't want a flat cake, unless you're going somewhere. 3. Locate the pancake holder (should be on the left) and replace the Pancakes inside with one or more cakes. (NOTE: Use cakes with a high fat content as they will power the computer more. Your mom's angel food cake will only power it for an hour or two. I use black forest cakes, as they come with a complementary robot that is strangely sentient.) 4. Replace the casing. Now your pancake computer runs on delicious cake! Good luck with the air raids!

Hello, this is the thing: When I make Pancakes, I cannot achieve they come out round-shaped. Besides, one side gets OK, but the other one turns out full of holes and doesnt cook uniformly. Answer: Holes always appear on the first top side of a pancake. They are the indicator that the pancake is ready to be flipped and cooked on the other side. They are caused by the leavening agent (gasses) rising to the surface and letting steam escape. There is nothing wrong with these pock marks appearing on your pancake. Relative to putting fruit into the Pancakes, I find, with berries, sliced strawberries, whole blueberries, etc, its best to drop them onto the surface of the uncooked pancake as soon as you pour it onto the hot griddle surface. When you flip the pancake over, the heat of the skillet will cook them sufficiently. Hope this helps.

This is my first time making Pancakes, so instead of making it from scratch i decided to go out and buy a pancake mix. It says add water, but all the recipes i read had some eggs mixed in with it. Would it be better if i added the egg or is the water enough for these mixes? If you need to know the brand, i just went out to Bel-Air and got a mix thats labeled Sunny Select.
Answer: Chances are your mix has powdered eggs in it. If the instructions on that particular mix says to only add water, it means the flour, baking powder (and possibly baking soda), powdered milk, powdered eggs and any other ingredient that one has is already in it. Don't overmix your Pancakes. A few lumps are okay; just moisten everything so your Pancakes will be fluffy. And make sure your pan or griddle is hot enough before pouring your batter on it. If you sprinkle a couple drops of water on the surface and they sizzle, then it's ready! Enjoy your Pancakes!

It shouldn't be a problem to refrigerate the batter even for a couple of days but I'd let it warm up a little before starting to make the Pancakes. The best Pancakes I've ever made are the melt in your mouth version of the pancake recipe on a box of bisquick and I always add a tablespoon or so of vanilla. The recipe is super easy and I've always gotten rave reviews for anyone that I've fixed them for.

Answer: Well, I use the bisquick stuff. I always add in a cap full of vanilla flavoring though. Don't try to make the pancake to large because then it won't cook evenly. And as soon as the edges look to dry up and it is all bubbly everywhere else then flip it. DO NOT FLIP AGAIN. The more you flip the pancake the more rubbery it gets.

Your skillet is ready when a few drops of water skitter across the surface. Grease the cooking surface with a light coating of vegetable oil or spray with cooking spray before heating. Nonstick or well-seasoned surfaces may not need any grease. Stir the batter with a whisk or fork, just until the ingredients are moistened. Don’t worry if there are small lumps in the batter, they will disappear during cooking. Measure ingredients carefully. Batter that is too thin will spread unevenly and result in flat Pancakes. Batter that is too thick won’t spread much at all. If you like your Pancakes on the thinner side, add a little milk to the batter. For well-rounded Pancakes about 4-inches wide, pour the batter onto the hot skillet using a ¼-cup measuring cup, a large spring-handled ice cream scoop or a large spoon. Flip Pancakes only once! Repeated flipping will toughen the Pancakes. Pancakes are ready to flip when they’re puffed, covered with bubbles and slightly dry around the edges. Cook the other side until it is golden brown. To keep Pancakes warm, place them in a single layer on a paper-towel-lined cookie sheet in a 200 degree oven. Don’t stack warm Pancakes or they will become limp and soggy. To freeze Pancakes, cool and wrap them in aluminum foil or place them in a freezer bag for up to a month. To reheat, place them in single layer on baking sheet, cover with foil and heat at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. For variety, stir fresh or frozen (thawed and drained) blueberries, finely chopped apples, thinly sliced bananas, mini- chocolate chips or nuts into the batter. For flavorful toppings, try sliced strawberries, raspberries, blueberries or bananas with whipped cream or a little powdered sugar sprinkled on top.

Answer: Instead of water, use 7-up or Sierra Mist. (Or, any brand of Amber Ale, if your old enough). The CO2 in soda pop and beer help leaven the Pancakes. Works really well and I've used it many times with instant pancake mixes. Just make sure you make the Pancakes right away. The batter becomes flat very quickly. Use the same amount of soda pop as water. If you use beer, use half water and half beer.

how do you make PANCAKES fluffy from scratch?

Ive just graduated from instant mixes, so now - I have this new principle when baking: I do things from scratch. Id like to know how to make really fluffy from-scratch Pancakes. First of all, Ive used an embarrassing amount of baking powder: Like a cup of flour would get about 2-3 tbs of baking powder. They still have that gummy quality. Second, Im already aware of over-mixing: makes them gummy and tough. (Also, Ive read about using Bisquik, which I consider a shortcut - no offense but Im still a learner; soda and carbonated water, too, I think are shortcuts. Very neat tricks, I have to admit but I am still trying to get my bearings with Pancakes.) Or is it that the secret is in the eggs: whisking them until theyre light and airy themselves? Though, if you do know any other tricks and shortcuts, Id love to hear about them, too. Id like to see my options. Cheers!
Answer: Cultured Buttermilk (lowfat is OK)!!! (not Bulgarian) It is so simple you are making it hard! These take 3 min. to mix & 5 min. to cook and melt in your mouth!!! It's the BAKING SODA and BUTTERMILK that make the difference. This is my son's favorite Pancakes, he has them a lot before school. 1 lg egg .............. 1Tbs sugar 1 cup Buttermilk ............ 1 Tbs oil 3/4 tsp baking soda ............ 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 cup all purpose flour ............1/2 tsp salt (if you don't have buttermilk, just add 2 TBLSP's of vinegar to regular milk, stir immediately then let it sit while you get everything together) Beat egg, add soda & buttermilk stir all that good (not beat). Put in flour, sugar, oil, baking powder & salt. (JUST DUMP IT ALL IN THERE then stir that all up real good (not beat). Now get the griddle or skillet med hot, not to hot, but hot enough! Oil that baby. Take a soup ladle full or pour some of the mix on the med. hot griddle. Cook till bubbles form in the middle, couple minutes, flip once! Cook few more minutes. Plate it top with butter or margerine and Log Cabin or Aunt Jemima!!!! He likes chocolate chips or pecans in them sometimes or topped with sweetened strawberries N whipped creme w/syrup to. Banana's and Peanut butter w/syrup is YUM YUM YUMMY!!! Quick and easy better than a mix. This makes about 9 5" Pancakes. You can make em smaller or bigger. I cut this in half just for my son.
