How many UCAS points do you nedd to get into Uni in general?
I got 3 Cs and a B today at AS. If I can carry out those grades next year, thatll be 340 Ucas points. Will that be enough to get to a good university?
Answer: It is definitely enough to get into a good university. But, the good universities tend to make you an offer which must come from THREE, A levels. They are crafty.
For example say you were to do Biomedical Science at a good university and were doing biology, chemistry, maths and history A levels. They may say, "Obtain 300 Ucas points from biology, chemistry and maths". So you would need 3 Bs in those.
Or perhaps, "Obtain 300 Ucas points to include at least an A in biology and a C in chemistry."
If you're lucky they will let you get your Ucas points from all 4 with any subjects you want, but very good universities tend not to.

How do you work out UCAS points?
Ive just started year 12 and doesnt know how the Ucas system works. Say if I get C for geography in year 12 (AS) psychology B (AS) and I.C.T (Pass) - Then second year Geography C Alevel, Psychology B Alevel and I.C.T Pass. This adds up to 350 Ucas points is this correct do you add (AS) points on to Alevel points?
Answer: No, you do not add the AS points to the A level points. After you do your AS and A Level exams, you will get an overall grade, For example. If you get a B for psychology in AS, and D for psycology in A level, then your overall grade is only a C, which is 80 points, and the same applies to the other subjects.

How many UCAS points are needed to gain a place to study law at Oxford or Cambridge?
I really want to know because im just making some extremelly important decisions in my life at the moment and I have decided that I need a goal in my life, a high expectation that I can strive to achieve. Also, if you have any other comments to add about the Ucas process or other ways in which to gain points and subjects which are best to take for the course then that would be really great. Thanks, much appreciated.

What is the difference between UCAS and yougo/yougofurther?
Does anyone know if there is a difference between Ucas and yougofurther?
My head teacher at school seems to think yougofurther is the new Ucas but im not sure!
I have already applied for yougofurther but i am unsure whether to apply for Ucas as well.
Answer: Ucas is where you make your uni application. Same as always!
yougo is the new Ucas forum. So basically you can join it and meet people/talk/join forums etc...
To make a uni application you still have to do it through Ucas as usual. If you applying to uni this year den you are late! Ucas should have been done by now.
Yougofurther is not the new Ucas.

Is there a lag between university giving UCAS a decision and it showing up on track?
I went for an informal interview at The University of Sheffield on the Tuesday just gone. On the invitation letter it clearly says that they guarantee a decision within 48hrs of your visit. I have only received a thank you for your visit email and no decision. My Ucas track has not changed at all.
Is there a lag between university giving Ucas a decision and it showing up on track?
Answer: It took a couple of days for my offers to show up on track even after I got acceptance emails and stuff so I think things do take a couple of days or so to show up on track. Although I doubt an offer will turn up on track if you haven't had an acceptance letter from the university itself. Good luck :)

How long does it take to receive offers from universities after applying through UCAS?
If anyone has applied to unis through Ucas, how long does it take to receive offers? Does it depend entirely on the university? Is there a date that we have to have recieved them by?
Answer: Well, I suppose that depends on the universities, basically when I applied to universities, I sent my application of in October, and I started hearing from them in November, December, and some even in February, that's the last I heard from. So yes, it depends on the university, but most people most hear by March, and they then start making their firm and Insurance choices then.
All the best....

How do I send my UCAS form to my sixth form so they can do my reference?
I applied to Ucas through my sixth form and have finished my form. I sent an email to my teacher asking for my reference and she said that i needed to send in my form. Does that mean i have to pay and send my Ucas form? Will it then get automatically sent to my sixth from to get a reference?
Answer: Log onto your application.
Click pay and send.
Obviously, then pay and send.
It will automatically go to the school for the tutors to approve and attach the reference and they will send it off.
I'm still waiting for them to send mine arghh!!

How many UCAS points do i need to become a para officer?
I want to be a para officer and at the moment im in college studying forensic science. Its a level 3 Btec. It includes chemistry, biology, physics, photography, and IT. How many Ucas points do i need to become a army officer? Im not looking to go to uni !
Thanks !
Answer: Yes the guy above is correct , just as all other Ruperts you need minimum of 2 A levels, 180 Ucas.
But with our Regiment usually fairly in high demand then having a degree would give you more of a chance.
Apart from having to do Para Regt Potential Officers Course (POC) and P Coy then everything else is the same process and training for all Army Officers. If you can not pass P Coy you will never become be a Para Regiment Officer and would be reallocated to another Regiment.
