What case will work for my KINDLE 2 along with a silicone skin?
I want to use a silicone skin case on Kindle 2 while reading. However, I need more protection when I put it in my purse. Is there another case that will hold Kindle with skin still on it? Preferably not too bulky.
I have decided on the Belkin case...thanks for your suggestions. I cant wait to get my Kindle 2...its for my bday in 2 weeks.
Answer: You can choose between these two cases:

What is the diffference between the amazon KINDLE 3G keypad and the amazon KINDLE keypad?
I am planning to buy a Kindle, and I am debating over these two, but I dont really understand it....
I dont really need to go online and I have okay eyesight. Im mostly going to be listening to audiobooks and reading real books on it.
I have never owned an ereader before and am very eager to get one.
could I please get some feedback from someone who really has these ereaders?
Thanks!
Answer: The Kindle product line now involves the following choices:
1. E Ink vs LCD display
Choose E Ink (Kindle, Kindle Touch, Kindle Keyboard) if long-run reading is your priority; choose LCD (Kindle Fire) if apps/games/video/web-browsing is your priority. E Ink displays ebooks just like paper-based ebooks, using ambient light; LCD displays ebooks just like computer monitors, using back lighting. On the other hand, E Ink is only black-and-white and is too slow for video. LCD does great with those non-reading applications. Further, Kindle Fire has a sophisticated web browser, Silk, which leverages local and cloud storage and processing dynamically, thereby providing high-performance web browsing.
2. 5-way controller vs multi-touch vs keyboard
Choose 5-way to save money (base Kindle is only $79), multi-touch for easy-of-use, and keyboard for ease-of-typing.
3. WiFi vs WiFi+3G
Choose WiFi+3G if you wish to download ebooks or browse the web when away from a WiFi hotspot. An ereader with 3G support will be able to connect like a cell phone. Unlike a cell phone, however, there is no monthly fee for Kindle's 3G service. Note, though, that the web browser on Kindle isn't so great. Also, once an ebook is downloaded, neither WiFi nor 3G is needed to read it.
4. With Special Offers vs Without Special Offers
Kindle With Special Offers (WSO) Pros:
* $25 (WiFi) or $50 (3G) less expensive.
* May save more if special offers turn out to be useful to you.
* Ads do not show up in the middle of reading an ebook.
* I've heard only praise from those who buy Kindle WSO.
Kindle With Special Offers Cons:
* May just dislike ads in principle, even outside of reading experience.

KINDLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
ok so i want to get myself a Kindle where is THE cheapest place and how much?
please and thanks!
Answer: Forget Kindle, it's so last year. Get Nook (3G or Wi-Fi) or or Nook Color (Wi-Fi) from bn.com or any Barnes & Noble physical store or BestBuy or Walmart. 3G means the internet connection is included for free for the life of the device thus you can download a new book even when you're walking on the street. Wi-Fi means that you need to have access to wireless hotspot - one expample would be any Barnes & Noble store that provide free Wi-Fi to Nook's or at your home. There's over a million of free public ebooks as well as over a million of ebooks that you need to pay for available through Barnes & Noble eBook store. Prices are generally much lower than for physical books.
Nook wins.
- Nook allows to lend books for 2 weeks to friends or to your other devices that run B&N app. Barnes & Noble allows (when you walk in with the Nook to B&N store) to read any available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi. With Nook, while in BN store you get exclusive articles from top authors, and great offers including cafe treats and unique deals.
- Nook Color is better as a color e-Reader than Kindle simply because it has color and Kindle is black and white. Content that greatly benefits from color - such as kids books and magazines - looks much better and sharper on Nook Color's screen.
- Nook Color is better as an e-Reader in general than iPad. It has a new generation screen which is anti-glare coated and is better performing in sunlight than iPad's. Also, as it's smaller in size than iPad, the text appears sharper on Nook's screen. Also it has 12,000 (more soon) kids books that are built as a game with feedback.
- Nook Color has been picked as the editors choice by PC Magazine while pro reviewers of other sites (CNET, ZDNet, Engadget, AllThingsDigital, etc.) mentioned that it tested to be pretty fast for apps and PDF's, and has a beautiful screen.
- Overall, Nook Color is more than e-Reader as you can also watch video and use Android applications on it. It's a hybrid device, much more than just an e-Reader but not a full tablet as it doesn't have a camera. If all you want is to read novels, Kindle (or the original e-Ink Nook) might be better for you. If you want something more from your device at half of the price of iPad or Galaxy tab, then Nook Color is your best bet.
- Nook (unlike Kindle) can be used for library ebooks.
- Nook (unlike Kindle) can be used for renting text-ebooks.

Im able to transfer books from my Kindle to the Kindle pc app but Im not able to figure out how to transfer books that I have downloaded onto my Kindle pc to get them to my Kindle. Any suggestions? Thank you
Answer: If you bought books off Amazon.com for your PC version of the Kindle...got to Amazon.com, then click on "my Account". Under the Orders section will be "view your Kindle Orders". Listed will be all the books you've bought for the Kindle. On the right will be "Actions". Click it then click on "Deliver to my.." Click the drop to next to "Deliver to:" and choose your Kindle.
If they are books you bought or obtained elsewhere...simply connect your Kindle to your PC with the USB drive. The Kindle's memory should show up on your pc as a harddrive. Simply drag and drop your books to the Kindle.

KINDLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
What Kindle should I get thats not the Kindle fire.
Answer: Hey, grm6710, the only models I would take into consideration are Nook Simpletouch from Barnes & Noble and the new Kindle Touch (non-ad-supported) that both cost $139. Ad-supported Kindle models show full page ads to you (and everyone around you) every time they go to sleep mode and also show 2 line ads right there at your home screen - so annoying that Amazon even released a software that for $30 can convert ad-supported Kindle into non-ad-supported one. Non-touch screen Kindle models are such basic stone age devices (with page turn lag, buttons, and black blinks/flashes on each page turn) that I would not even speak about them. Nook (unlike Kindle) supports eBooks in ePub format that is the universal format most used in the world. Current e-Ink Nook Simpletouch has the latest generation touch screen display, no page turn lag, it weights less, its battery lasts twice as long (two months on one charge), it has microSD slot and it doesn't blink on each page turn - much better than current Kindle 3 or Kindle Keyboard. Nook Touch is still better designed than even the new Kindle Touch with battery lasting two months with ONE hour reading a day with Wi-Fi off thus it's still twice as long as new Kindle's two months with HALF and hour a day with Wi-Fi off. It looks like Kindle didn't get any battery improvement in the new model, they only changed the test condition. More, Kindle Touch still flashes black on each page turn while Nook Touch reduces the flashing by 80%. Nook Touch and Nook Color (unlike Kindle) have microSD card slot to take a card (class 6 or above) up to 32 GB. If you walk in with the Nook to Barnes & Noble store, you’re allowed to read ANY available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi.
Also, no point in getting 3G Kindle now as they limit what web sites you can access (only Amazon store and Wikipedia are allowed.)

How in the world do you delete KINDLE books from a KINDLE Fire tablet?
When Kindle books are on a Kindle Fire tablet and you have finished reading them, how do you delete them? I have a micro USB wire that attaches to my desktop computer, but still, I cant get rid of the books that I dont need anymore.
Answer: If you purchase an ebook from Amazon, you own it. It is in your Amazon "cloud." Go to "Books" on your Kindle, and at the top you'll see "Device" and "Cloud". If you select "cloud", you'll see everything you've purchased on Amazon. If you select "device," you'll see only those items that are actually downloaded from your "cloud" onto your Kindle itself. If you want to remove the item from your Kindle itself, hold your finger on the book title until a little menu comes up, where you can select "remove from device." When you do that, it removes the book from the Kindle itself and you will no longer see it when you select to view items on the "Device." However, the book will remain in your Amazon "cloud" because you own it, and Amazon saves everything you own for you in case you'd like to put it back on your Kindle.
If you've uploaded something from your computer onto your Kindle (movies, pictures, documents, etc) that you didn't actually purchase from Amazon, those items are not actually in your Amazon cloud and will be permanently removed from your Kindle when you select "remove from device."

How is the KINDLE 3 for reading a4 documents?
Im after an ereader. Im presently looking into the Nook and the Kindle 3.
The Kindle DX is apparently bigger but not presently available in the UK. Im tempted to wait for that.
The battery lives on the Kindle really appeals to me but Im not sure if the Nook is the better ereader or not.
Im looking for some advice from people who have purchased ereaders. Is the Kindle 3 unsuitable for reading a4 sized books without vertical and / or horizontal scrolling?
Answer: It's not going to be fun to read PDF on a 6" display without reflow.
Suggestion: Before you buy, try Calibre to convert your PDF to MOBI for Kindle and see if your documents come out ok and with reflow using one of the ebook PC/Mac readers. Amazon also has a PDF to AZW conversion that achieves reflow.
Nooks supposedly support PDF reflow directly, but I'd want Kindle's E Ink Pearl display rather than Nooks older E Ink Vizplex.
One last thought: Sony ereaders are considered to have better PDF support as they're based on Adobe's Mobile PDF Reader. The PRS-350, 650, and 950 also have Pearl displays.

Is an Amazon KINDLE good for someone who wants to start to read?
I really dont like to read but I want to start. Is the Kindle a good place to start?
Answer: I own the Kindle 2, so let me give you some of my opinions about it. I've to say I love it! I think I've read over 30 books with my Kindle, no glitches so far! Kindle books are cheaper than actual books and I think I've saved over $100 for the books I've bought on the Kindle.
Other than books being cheaper, I thinkit can definitely help you to start and like reading because of the benefits it brought to us. At the beginning I did miss a bit on the feeling of reading books. But now I love to hold the Kindle, the e-ink seems to work very well, it is really like reading books... Now I often read with the Kindle for several hours but I don't feel tired... And I now prefer to manage all books inside the Kindle rather than my never big enough bookshelf... And like to do bookmarking, annotation, dictionary lookup without any additional thing but a Kindle. You can get a cover to protect the Kindle as well, so it will not be easy to break it ;)
One of the reasons I love my Kindle is that it has helped me improve a lot on my efficiency and utilize my time. Before I have the Kindle, waiting time like when I'm waiting for friends or waiting for shuttle bus or some thing like that is simply wasted. Now I just need to bring the Kindle 2 along with me, and all my favorite books are inside it. Another thing I like the most is the text-to-speech function, which means I can "read" books without even holding or looking at the Kindle. Now I like to use this function when I've myself busy on some boring things, say when I'm on the step machine or doing some housework...
There are quite a lot of free books (tips: if you're outside the U.S. all the books will have US$2 added, but when you choose to download to computer when you check out, the $2 will be waived, and you can copy the books to your Kindle through USB cable), and many Kindle books, magazines and newspapers are cheaper than the actual paper version. I remember I read these reviews about the benefits of the Kindle when I decided to buy it:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Freview%2FR2DUM7S4XW06QN%3Fie%3DUTF8%26ASIN%3DB00154JDAI%26nodeID%3D%26ref%255F%3Dcm%255Fcr%255Fpr%255Fcmt&tag=moreinfo-po-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957
http://www.speedreaderxreview.com/is-Kindle-2-worth-the-price
Finally, in case you don't know, Amazon has just put a price slash on the Kindle 2, and it is now selling $100 cheaper than the price I got my Kindle, and it adds in international wireless access and native PDF support... So take the chance if you want it.
Hope it helps :)

What does a new model KINDLE do that a cheaper netbook or notebook full computer cant do?
I have never used an Amazon Kindle but looking at their prices I see that they cost as much as some Notebook computers and they are more expensive than a lot of netbooks. What does a Kindle do that a comparable price notebook computer does not do? It seems to me that a cheaper netbook or notebook can do all that a Kindle would do but so much more. Please advise if you have experience with a Kindle.
Answer: It is designed for portable reading, just like MP3 or iPod instead of netbook. I own the Kindle 2 and I like it very much. If you like to read, I'll say it is definitely a must have.
I remember I read these reviews when I decided to buy the Kindle:

How do I transfer books from one KINDLE to a second KINDLE?
Just bought a second Kindle for my wife. Not sure how to get the books that are already downloaded on my Kindle over to her new Kindle.
Answer: Are both Kindles registered to the same Amazon.com account?
If so, this is very easy. On the e-Ink Kindles, get to the Home screen, then look for the Archives section. Open that up. All the titles you ever purchased on that account will be listed. Simply click on it and it will ask if you if you want to download to that Kindle.
On the flip side, you can log into your Amazon.com account on your computer and choose Manage Kindles. There you will see a list of purchases, and a drop down menu where you can choose what Kindle to download the purchase to.

Amazon KINDLE: So whats the difference between the 3G one and the other one?
I want to get one but I noticed the one Im planning on getting doesnt have 3G and the other one which is $50 higer does. What is the difference? Does the one without not save the futherest location you read or something like that? I have Kindle on my PC and it does that. If you have wifi in your house do you need the 3G one? Im a bit confused by it.
Answer: They both save your place in the book.
The wifi version needs a wireless connection to work. The 3G one uses a wireless phone connection for data.
>If you have wifi in your house do you need the 3G one<
No, but then if you are away from your house, you will have no connection unless you can find an open wireless network.
The Kindle uses one of the connection types to download new content or to synch your location in a book. The lack of a connection though will not keep you from reading a book you have already down loaded.
