I work at Starbucks. Im moving in a little over a week. They say that you have to be with the company for 6 months before you can transfer - Ive only been there for 2 months. is there any way that I might still be able to transfer, or should I just try to find a new job?
Answer: They do say you have to work 6 months before you can transfer, but sometimes they make exceptions. All you have to do is talk to your manager about it. I worked at a store in my hometown for not even 3 months, and they helped me transfer to the one I work at now (in my college town).

Does anyone work at Starbucks or know anyone who may work as a bartistas at Starbucks? I know Starbucks carries the syrup you can buy, I was wondering if any one knew how they were made? I love them and want to make them at home! Thanks!
Answer: The Starbucks "secret" is (and always has been) using really good quality ingredients. So, in that respect, if you're trying to save money by making it at home, you'll probably just do better getting it at the ole 'bucks. The details aren't available to the public (or baristas), but the basic ingredients are a double strength coffee base, frappuccino mix, vanilla powder, and whipped cream. You can make the coffee base at home--just use 1/2 the water normally and start with a strong coffee (espresso, Italian, etc.). You'll have to look for a strongly flavored french vanilla powder, which is available in basic (cheap) forms as Carnation coffee-mate or likely at gourmet grocers in the spice aisle. The whipped cream is natural whipping cream, so don't skimp there. That leaves the frappuccino base. Here's the magic... there isn't any. It's just yummy stuff. The link below is one of many purported "recipes" online. Google it and you'll get others. But a BETTER suggestion is to buy the bottled coffee frappuccino and use that as a starter. Good luck. Again, don't discount the quality of product and expertise of baristas in making this drink for you. It might be worth it in the long run!

Answer: You can order pretty much any drink with nonfat milk and no whipped cream. Other than that, they have black coffee, iced coffee with milk, "skinny" lower-calorie flavored iced lattes (hot or iced), cold or steamed apple juice, cold or steamed milk, plain hot or iced tea, tea lattes, and tea lemonades. As an alternative to Frappuccinos, they have Light Frappuccinos, which are significantly lower in calories. They also have smoothies, which have a whole banana blended into them, as well as whey protein and fiber powder. You can find nutrition information for all their drinks on their website.

I have the Starbucks app on my iPhone and once you get 5 stars, you get select syrups and milk on the house. But I feel like its just a lot of extra work to explain that you get certain stuff free. Why has Starbucks increased their prices? I mean I love Starbucks, but theyre gradually becoming more expensive. I dont understand... Their business is obviously successful since there are Starbucks in many parts of the world so why the need to increase prices? I just went to Starbucks today after a long time and paid $4 for a grande Pumpkin Spice Latte whereas before I only paid like around $3. They have already increased their prices twice in my area. Seems like theyre becoming greedy. Some please enlighten me? Answer: Either the price they pay for the coffee grounds to be made, has gone up, for them. Or theirs more demand than supply. I love that pumpkin latte. Have you tried the Pumpkin Spice Steamer? It's just as good, and some what cheaper. I don't know if the price increase is all over, or just where you are. But where I am, there's a Starbuck's on almost every corner.How many are there?

I have all the ingredients, Starbucks coffee, Starbucks classic syrup, and half n half. But when I make one, it just dont taste the same. Im not sure if Im brewing the coffee wrong or what. Answer: It's all in the type of coffee you have. Starbucks iced coffee is a blend called Terraza and it isn't sold in stores (or anywhere that I know of). The closest thing to it is the Gazebo blend, which is only available during summer months. Some stores may have already run out of their supply by now. To start off, the coffee is brewed double strength and then 'doubled' by adding ice. (one batch makes a total of 4 liters, 2 liters of coffee and ice added [thus, melted] to make 4 liters) A grande iced coffee with milk contains four pumps (1 oz)classic syrup, coffee to the first green line, milk (or 1/2 n 1/2) to the second line, and then filled to the top with ice. The biggest issue for you will be finding a roast of coffee that you like. Try to stay away from coffees described as 'earthy' or 'spicy' and go towards 'bright' or 'citrus' notes. I'm sure this might sound a bit confusing, but the coffee world has a lot more to it than most people think :)

How many hours does STARBUCKS offer and what benefits do they have?

I applied at Starbucks on the application it ask if I can work 30 to 40 hours a week. However I hear that Starbucks only does part time, is this true? I really need full time hours or almost full time like 35 to almost 40 hours, the more the better. Also do they get tips, and what are the benefits. I hear they get free drinks and coffee. Do they also get free food, like the sandwiches they make, and brownies? I like their sandwiches.
Answer: I'm not sure if its this way for all Starbucks, but we had to fire a couple of people because they weren't working at least 20 hours every week... that's the minimum. So if you want to work 30 hours a week then that's awesome. We do get tips. They get divided up between the partners. It depends on how many hours you work in that week for how much money you get. If you work the minimum amount of hours a week, you qualify for full health, dental, and vision insurance. It's pretty good coverage, I have it myself and I only pay $53 dollars every paycheck. ($106 a month) As for the free drinks: You can make as many drinks for yourself as you want as long as you're on the clock, also 30 minutes before and after your shift. Those are what we call partner beverages. When you're not working you get a 30% discount on drinks and retail items. Once a week you get a partner markout which is a 1lb bag of coffee or 1 box of tea to take home for free. We don't get free food, but with your 30% discount it isn't really that expensive. STARBUCKS partners, is it hard to transfer to a new store?

Ive been working at Starbucks in my hometown now for almost 8 months but Im going away to school in August. There is a Starbucks about 6-10 minutes away from the university that I would love to transfer to. Are there any special regulations about transferring, such as age and how long youve been working there? Ill have been working there over a year when I want to transfer.
Answer: I don't believe there are any regulations. When I worked for them I transferred with no problem. You just need to find a store that has an opening in the area your looking for.
