Can anyone give me some tips for my first time showing?
Im showing my 15hh Hackney x cob at the weekend. He is very dark liver chestnut with a ginger mane and multicoloured tail! He is gorgeous :)
Ive never done any showing before and need help! How should I stand for the judges? What should I wear?
I cant plait his mane if I cant plait his tail, as someone pulled it before I had him and it still hasnt grown out far enough for me to plait. Should I just brush his mane and tail thoroughly and put some de-tangler in it?
I am entering him in best condition and riding school horse, both in hand.
Any tips much appreciated.

Answer: In the show ring most cobs are meant to be clip on the mane, the tail to be cut just above the hock(don't do this if you are only going for fun as your horses mane will grow back really thick) but if i was you seing your picture of your horse i would plait it up on the mane.if you want him to go really shiny get a damp cloth and wipe it over his body.( put hoof oil on is feet too.bring pleny off hay as you will need it! you need to wear a shirt, tie and cream jophers. if you are younger the 16 you are meant to wear jopher boots but if you are older you are meant to wear long riding boots.don't forget to bring your hat as you will need it for your class. if you got a show jacket that would be great! you also ment to have a show cane.also practise your inhand with your horse as you will need to stand walk and trot inhand also make sure that you only have a SNAFFE in your horses month.Wheen the jugde has called you to the middle to look around you horse stand infront off your horse so she came see all around it. you can bend down and pick a bit off grass up and make your horse put its head up high for the jugde also always SMILE.don't wear to much make up too. There will always be someone there that thinks there better then you! but don't think there are course you have probly got a better horse then them !! BUT REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN AND HAVE A GREAT DAY, GOOD LUCK!!!!! :)

Im traveling to London in June for radio one Hackney weekend and was wondering the best/cheapest way of getting there? I think the best option would to drive to just outside londont (end of M1 and then get the train to hackney) but Theres so many stations Wich station would be the best to park at and will the train/tube go directly to hackney marshes with no changes? Also when are the last trains/ tubes bear in mind it is also on a Sunday? Any local knowledge or well traveled peoples advice would be appreciated.

Answer: Who says nobody seems to bat an eye? It's all over the press so I don't know what you mean. Maybe because it happens so often people aren't as shocked as they used to be.
If these kids are stupid enough to keep carrying knives, or hanging around with people who do, it won't stop. And all this rubbish about inner city kids feeling like they have to is just that - claptrap. I raised and inner city child as a lone parent and he never carried a knife or joined a gang or got anyone pregnant or any of the other things some of the more idiotic teens do. It's time they took responsibility for their actions - I say carry a knife gets 2 years minimum, irrespective of age.

i just managed to get a free ticket to hackneys weekedn rihanna, tinie, tempah and gyptian will be playin, i tried to get another ticket for a guest but it was only till i got mine i realised you could only get one for a guest if they had registered.
so basically i got a ticket for myself but i dont know if i should go. I was so happy but the thought of going on my home is daunting. i dont know hat to expect.
