What minimum credentials should one have in order to be a powertrain development engineer in FORMULA 1?
Im currently starting my masters degree in mechanical engineering. My career aspiration is to be an automotive powertrain (engine) development engineer for a constructor (any one of them) in Formula 1? How good an engineer will one have to be and what requisite qualifications/experience/credentials should one have to be able to make it to this job.
Answer: I'm guessing you wont be able to start in F1. It is after all the Highest class of racing/research&development that exists in the automotive world. I'd be forced to think that you would need a decade or more in the racing world before even being considered for such a position. Maybe try Nascar, I know it sucks, but it is alot more plausible as a first step than F1.

What are the best seats on Montreal for the Canadian GP FORMULA 1?
Of course that you could say that the most expensive seats are the best, but maybe some of you experienced Formula 1 fans, know a few secrets about where to seat at Gilles Villeneuve Circuit in Montreal.

Answer: I haven't been to the Canadian GP, but I've watched most of them since they moved to Montreal and remember where the action tends to happen. Using this map:

I'd say the best places to get a look at the cars going slowly are turns 3 and 11, the places you are most likely to see overtaking are turns 2, 9, 11 and 14. If you want to see how good the drivers and the cars really are (but only for a couple of seconds per lap), then turns 4, 5 and 6 are reckoned to be among the most challenging in F1 to drive quickly.

Why dont they make FORMULA 1 cars stronger and less fragile?
In most motorsport there is a bit of contact now and again and most of the time the cars keep on going and do not lose much time.
In Formula 1 the smallest of contacts breaks the wings etc and can result in a puncture because the carbon fiber is sharp when it breaks.
Would Formula 1 be better if the cars were less fragile and could take a knock?
Answer: Stronger means more weight and more weight is slower. Slower mean less money. Slower loses.

What do you think about FORMULA 1 races being blacked out from the Speed Chanel here in Toronto Canada?
I noticed that the Speed channel blacks out Formula 1 races. The races have been marginalised for several years now, and I cant stand TSNs rendition of the races which are delayed and shortened to cater to TSNs scheduling. I like Speed channels broadcast much better. It seems F1 is still not popular here in Canada!

Id say that at your age you are still young enough to make a start its not like trying to get going at age 25 to 30 years now is it when ou would be retiring from the sport ?
if you talk to your parents and they support your ideas, then there are many ways to raise the money to get a cart and later maybe a GP2 car, who knows you may even have a lottery win or something to finance the racing or better still get sponsored. If you are truly serious/dedicated, the time to start making your F1 racing plans is right now!

Answer: I hate to say it but the chances of you becoming an F1 Driver is not even very slim. Far from slim. We do need information, have you driven in F1 kart series before? By the sound of your answer, seems not and that is a low blow because the average age of professional F1 drivers that started karting is five/six. I love F1 too, I wanted to be a racer, but I realized years back that I don't have the experience to be an F1 racer, I have only done go karting a few times, Okay I might have won them all but a few races won't say I am going into F1. I need to be in karting series. I am 17 now and I am focusing on acting, that is harder but more achievable because there is billions of acting jobs in the world and only 24 race seats in F1
