What kind of WEATHER should expect in march?

I am planning for a long trip across the country. From Florida to Oregon. The time and distance is not a factor. But road conditions and Weather most definitelty are important. What kind of Weather should i expect? The route i have chosen is the shortest distance with only one planned stop in south dakota. so my route is roughly 2900 miles. what advice do you have on on my ideas of a road trip?
Answer: In March you can still hit some very bad Weather coming across the passes. If you have the option, do as the other poster said and take the southern route (I-10 to I-5). If you have to stop in South Dakota then be sure to keep an eye on the Weather, listen to all traffic advisories ("For Pass Information Tune to nnnn AM"), and try to time your driving so that you are crossing the passes during the day. Note that if the signs say "Traction Tires Required", they mean it!

What is the WEATHER like in certain states like Georgia and the Carolinas?

I want to move but I dont know what the Weather is like in other states. Im terrified of tornados and I dont want to live any where near wherever they happen. I dont want to live in a flood state either. Is there a free website that can tell me what the Weather is like in certain states?
Answer: Unfortuanly, any state in America is proned to severe flooding espeically if you live on the Gulf Coast of Eastern Seaboard where tropical Weather systems occur. The Carolinas are notorious for hurricanes, and hurricanes usually spawn tornados. Most of the Carolinas dont suffer greatly from hurricanes, its mostly an issue with 50 miles or so from the coast. Other than hurricanes, the Carolinas are a great place to live as far as Weather is concerned. They have cool winters, occasoinally a snowstorm or two and ice during a normal winter. Same is true for Georgia too. Spring time in these areas arrives early compared to most other states in the US. By March 60s and 70s are common. Summers are very warm and very humid. If you dont like humidity, dont move to the Southeast. The Carolinas and Gerogia are under a maratime tropical airmass for most of the year, which means the air has a high moisture content. Humidity starts becoming a factor in this region around May and can get very uncomfortable in June, July, August, and even September. The chance for tornados in GA and Carolinas are relativly low compared to the Plain States such as Kansas, Oklamhoma, and Nebreska to mention a few. Bottom line for this region is that it could get cold and snow could happen, but its not the unbearable cold you get up North and winter is alot shorter in duration as far as temperature are concerned. How to know WEATHER your an octave too high or low when tuning a guitar?

Trying to tune my guitar after restringing it. However I never know Weather Im on the correct A or the Correct E for my strings. How do you know Weather you should do another lap on the guitar. It sounds too flat yet going up another whole octave seems nearly suicidal.
Answer: Well if you're an octave too low, the string will be super floppy and almost unplayable. The string will break before you get an octave too high. Once you get one string in tune, you should be able to tune up the rest of the way without the tuner. If you don't know how to do this, look it up. There are plenty of articles out there on the subject.

OMG...IT IS THUNDER AND LIGHTENING HERE..it is really scary..All I can hear is big roars...rain...and see lightening..We never get it here and this is like the first time we have had it this bad!!! I live in Or. and I can like see the lighteneing, it is so close to the ground! Any advice how to not freak out, I am worried for my well not my real sis but ne ways she is driving in this!! I stood outside for 30 sec. okay maybe a minute, and I am soaked from head to toes, and I was rolling up the car window!
Answer: When I was a kid my mom told me that thuder was Angels playing bowling and anytime they got a strike lighting was to celebrate. It made me feel better because I would jump up and down and cheer when lightning would strike and know it is still cool to like of it that way. I recently got this short sleeve dress, and was wondering when it would be appropriate to wear it. Tomorrow is suppose to be sunny and around 66 degrees and sunny. Would it be appropriate to wear it tomorrow or should I wait? And if you dont think I should wear it tomorrow, what is appropriate Weather/temperature to wear it?
Answer: That would be great Weather to wear the dress. I wore a dress today and it was about the same Weather conditions as you have described for tomorrow. My dress has spaghetti straps so I wore a cardigan with it to work. However, if it would've had short sleeves instead of straps I would've not had the cardigan on. I say go for it!

How can WEATHER forecasters predict the WEATHER accurately a week in advance?

Back in the 1980s it was hit or miss. They were only correct about 50% of the time. However, today, if the Weather forecasters say it is going to be hot, you know there is about a 95% chance that they are right. If they say there is a 40% chance or higher of rain, most of the time, it rains that day. But how can they tell in advance what the Weather is going to be like?
Answer: Well to understand the larger picture is necessary. It starts with climatology and then observation. How does the Weather today compare against the long past. Secondly, we project where storm systems may be in one week, that includes highs, lows, troughs, ridges, vorticity, etc. The computer models are so much better because corrections for things like warm overrunning have mad temperature forecasts more useful and even to some extent, rain chances. I believe better understanding of atmospheric physics, better radar, satellite and observations have all coalesced into a more clear picture of what is going on at the surface and a loft. I've provided a link to the computer models used by the National Weather Service and any decent forecaster. Answer: Hi AnimalMaster, First you need to make sure you have male and female toads. Do you know? And how many of each gender do you have? It is easier if you have more than one of each. If you are not sure what gender your toads are go here: http://www.fbtoads.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=61&Itemid=74 (There are pictures) Breeding these toads can be time consuming. You need to make sure your toads are a good weight and healthy before you go through this process as underweigt toads could die (they don't eat much during this time). With that said, you need to go from an artificial winter to an artificial spring. They need to go through a type of hibernation (winter) and then after the season changes to spring, that is their key to breed. Creating an artificial winter is probably the most difficult part of getting them to breed. The temperature in the tank needs to be in the low 60s (remember to not let temperatures drop in the 50s!). If you live in a cold area, try relocating your tank into the garage or put it on the floor. Then after about 8-9 weeks, you need to raise the temperature in your tank back to normal to imitate spring (coming out of winter and into spring). How come the WEATHER channel is not always true about the WEATHER?

Well over the past few years the Weather channel is not predicting right. Like today we were suppose to have rain but it didnt since I only saw a few clouds in the sky. The say that it was a chance of rain 30% but to me it was not true. Does the Weather channel lie sometimes or maybe because they are just guessing what the Weather is?
Answer: Most of it is educated guessing, but they do the best they can to get a forecast that is as accurate as possible. Generally, 30% chance of rain means out of the past 10 times a scenario similar to the one experienced today, 3 of the times yielded measurable precipitation at the forecasted area. So, to me, that was quite accurate. People just don't realize that lots of things can affect a Weather forecast. Even something as little as a shift in the path of a squall line can mean convective debris the next day, limiting instability downstream. It takes an intense set of mathematical details to get every single cloud and wind pattern measured - let's say that you would likely have to gather all the computing power on the planet to make a forecast like that.

Answer: The tilt of the earth about it's axis (which is about 23 degrees), earth's position in space (orbit around the sun), and the distance sun rays travel to reach the surface, all influence climate (i.e. seasons) During winter months (above the equator), the earth's tilt relative to the sun causes the sun's energy to travel further to reach the earth's surface. Latitudes above the equator are furthest away from the sun) During summer months, the opposite is true, higher latitudes are tilted closer to the sun.. and lower latitudes (below the equator) experience the opposite. That's why it is cold (Fall/Winter) in the upper lattitudes now (fall)...and the lower lattitudes are going into Spring then Summer. I could get more complicated but this is a plain as I could do it. Some will argue that distance from the sun doesn't affect temperature, but I think it does.

How is the WEATHER and crowds at disney world in mid august?

I am thinking about going next month around the 10th-14th. I was wondering how the Weather and crowds usually is around this time. Answer: No, it is no cooler. It is still at the height of the most miserable Weather of the year - super hot, super humid. As far as crowds, August is a little better than July, but the crowds generally don't start clearing out quite that early. The last two weeks of August are historically much better, but the first couple weeks are still peak season.
